About Hair by Fonsi
My name is Alvaro Fonseca and I am a hairstylist working from a private home studio located in Downtown Mississauga. I specialize in hair services for both men and women including fades, short/medium and long layered scissor haircuts. I also provide color services such as grey blending, root touch ups, full color and highlights.
My Story
I came to Canada (from Cuba) when I was 12 years old and briefly settled in Etobicoke before moving to Mississauga and have now lived here for over 20 years. I developed a strong interest in computers and technology as I was growing up (I’m a gamer!) and decided to initially pursue a career in Computer Networking from Seneca College. Upon graduating I worked in the IT/Support industry for 8 years, until in 2019, I was exposed to the beauty industry. I began experimenting with my own hair as well as friends on my spare time and came to love everything about it. This new-found hobby turned into a passion and ignited the decision to get formal education to further develop and hone my skills, so I enrolled at Eikonic Academy in 2020 and graduated in 2022. Upon graduating from hair school, I had the privilege of working at Salon Venere, where I continued to improve and refine my skills, turning me into the professional I am today. In 2024, I decided to take everything I have learned from the industry and start my own business.
On the personal side, I love baseball (Go Jays Go!) and have been playing the sport all my life. I like playing computer games and watching anime (Naruto fan) from time to time. On my spare time, I like to listen to or read a good book and spend time with my family.
